Pasco Park and Sell Takes Hassle Out of Selling Vehicles, Boats

Clients set their prices, and the consignment lot does the rest, at no cost to the seller.

If you want to sell your car, RV or boat yourself, but you don't want to deal with the hassles that come along with the process, a new business in Land O' Lakes has a solution for you.

Pasco Park and Sell will sell your big ticket item—trucks, tractors, you name it— for you, for free. You set the bottom line price you are willing to accept, and they do the rest.

The company makes a profit by selling items at a price above the owner's bottom-line price. The owner gets their price, Pasco Park and Sell keeps the rest.

"If you take it to a dealership, you're going to get a lot less than what you will get it if you consign it here," owner Mike Schwartz said.

Consignment is a good choice for people who want to sell themselves but don't want strangers coming to their home, or for people who are just too busy to deal with the sales process, he said.

Pasco Park and Sell has the benefits of a dealership, without the fees involved, Schwartz said.

Prices are set to be competitive and move items quickly, and consignment items are heavily advertised.

"All of our advertising is done online," Schwartz said. And there's someone at the lot all day Monday through Saturday to meet with buyers. Appointments are available for Sunday shoppers.

Internet advertising draws buyers to the lot from near and far. A couple recently flew in from Ohio to purchase an RV they found online, Schwartz said.

In addition to advertising, the lot gets plenty of drive-by traffic, which helps give a client's boat or vehicle more exposure to potential buyers.

And if it doesn't sell, there's still no cost to you, Schwartz said.

Schwartz and his wife, Natalie, opened Pasco Park and Sell in September. Since then, half of the items they've brought it on consignment have sold, he said.

If you're thinking about selling a vehicle or boat, Schwartz said nothing is more important than making sure everything is running properly.

"And have it as clean as possible," he said.

The perks at Pasco Park and Sell extend to buyers, as well.

"We're not a dealer, so there are no dealer fees," Schwartz said. "If the price says $10,000, that's exactly what you're going to pay."

They don't collect taxes on the sale, either. Those are paid at registration.

"It truly is a private party sale."
