Pasco Seeks Applicants For Tourist Development Council

The Pasco Board of County Commissioners is seeking a tourism industry professional to fill the vacancy.

LAND O’ LAKES, FL –Pasco County is encouraging residents who work in the tourism industry to apply for a vacancy on the Pasco County Tourist Development Council.

The Tourist Development Council and the Pasco Board of County Commissioners are seeking applicants for a new TDC member who is involved in the Pasco County tourism industry. The TDC, which is made up of elected officials and tourism industry professionals, is responsible for providing oversight to county staff on the use of tourism taxes, also known as the Bed Tax.

“We are looking forward to finding an individual who is committed to the development and future of Pasco County as a leading Florida tourism destination,” said Pasco County Tourism Director Adam Thomas.

Some of the TDC members’ responsibilities include making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners about the Special Event Marketing Program and Sport Event Sponsorship Program, overseeing department policies and procedures, proving funding allocation recommendations and serving as an advocate for tourism and destination development.

Council members serve staggered four-year terms. The TDC typically meets monthly.
