Park and Attractions
Scream-A-Geddon features three outdoor and two indoor haunted attractions with the Monster Midway acting as the hub as well as a horror-themed festival area. This year’s main attractions are:
- Blackpool Prison: A facility for those who committed unspeakable crimes and a high-security area for the worst of the worst, Blackpool Prison is in the aftermath of a riot and the only way to escape is through the inmates.
- Cursed Hayride: A redesigned event for 2016, ride a wagon through an old western town whose residents were cursed with immortality. They look for new souls to steal to escape their nightmarish existence.
- Infected: Also redesigned as an interactive exhibit for 2016, try to escape the infection and the infected through a farmer’s corn maze that was struck by a large meteorite.
- Dead Woods: The Tate family had lived in these woods for five generations. Now they fiercely defend their land after the federal government annexed it as a part of Bearstone National Park. Unlucky travelers will have to find their way out of the family’s property.
- Bedlam 3D: Clowns and fiends fill Bedlam 3D, chasing their victims to consume their flesh.
Interactive Attractions
Blackpool Prison and Infected are interactive exhibits where patrons can opt in to interact with the cast members. Those who opt in may be grabbed, held back, sent into hidden rooms, removed from their group or even be forced to remain in the exhibit. All customers who attend the interactive attractions will have the choice of whether to opt-in or simply watch the action.
In the three other exhibits, monsters are not allowed to touch patrons, but they will come very close and the customer may brush up against the monsters or their weapons.
The Monster Midway
The Monster Midway offers a carnival-like atmosphere with all the features of a county fair, only with a horror-base theme. The Monster Midway will include:
- Beer, wine and cold drink vendors
- Grilled, fried and cooked foods
- Midway games
- Fire pits and monsters to set the mood
- A fully stocked gift shop
- Photo spots
- Caricature artists
- And more
Restrictions and Accessibility
Scream-A-Geddon is recommended for adults and teens, but parents may bring younger children if the parents choose. There are no special prices for children and refunds will not be given for those who can’t complete the attractions.
Organizers also recommend against people who are pregnant, have heart conditions or are in generally poor health from attending Scream-A-Geddon. Also, strobe lights are used in all attractions.
The indoor attractions are wheelchair accessible, while the Monster Midway is accessible but outdoors. The three outdoor attractions are not wheelchair accessible due to the terrain.
Scream-A-Geddon is open rain or shine. Indoor attractions will stay open during rain. Outdoor attractions will continue in light rain, but will close down for heavier storms. Because most of Scream-A-Geddon is outdoors, the staff recommends not to wear sandals, heels, flip flops or open-toed shoes.
