St. Leo University Hosts National Girls & Women In Sports Day
The day will start with a sports clinic for children and after the girls will be invited to pizza and the softball games.

From Saint Leo University: Saint Leo University will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a free sports clinic for elementary- and middle-school students on Saturday, February 25, before the softball team’s doubleheader with Embry-Riddle University.
Tampa Bay area native and 2016 Olympic gold medalist swimmer Melanie Margalis will be in attendance. Margalis, a 2010 graduate of Countryside High School in Pinellas County and a 2014 graduate of the University of Georgia, won a gold medal with the U.S. Women’s 4×200 freestyle relay team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She earned four letters with the Georgia Bulldogs swim team and helped the team capture the NCAA Division I national title in 2013 and 2014.
The day will start with a sports clinic for school-age students on the University Soccer Field at 10 a.m. This event will expose participants to a variety of sports, and introductory developmental skills will be taught by Saint Leo NCAA student-athletes. Once the clinic concludes at 11:45 a.m., participants are invited to stay for free pizza and the softball doubleheader, which starts at noon at University Softball Stadium.
