Tarpon Springs Man Charged With DUI Manslaughter In Fatal Crash

A 79-year-old Lutz woman was killed and a 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man was charged with DUI manslaughter following a three-car pileup.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A 79-year-old Lutz woman was killed and a 23-year-old Tarpon Springs man was charged with DUI manslaughter following a three-car pileup on State Road 54 Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 4:30 p.m., a pickup truck driven by the Tarpon Springs man, an SUV driven by a 63-year-old Lutz man and a car driven by a 20-year-old Tampa man were headed west on State Road 54 near Oak Grove Boulevard.

The car and SUV slowed for traffic up ahead but the pickup truck collided with the rear of the SUV. The SUV then hit the rear of the car.

A 79-year-old woman passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital where she later died. The 63-year-old driver is being treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, Cameron Stephen Frahn, was later arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol and charged with DUI manslaughter, possession of 89.5 grams of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
