Teens Airlifted Following County Line Accident

A 14-year-old Land O’ Lakes resident had to be airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital after being struck by a car this weekend. 

Jayce Grines, 14, and Spring Hill’s Kacie Barnes, 15, were crossing County Line Road near Shady Hills Road late Saturday (Sept. 28) when “they failed to yield to eastbound traffic,” according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The teens were struck by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by Steven Edwards Moschella of New Port Richey. Both Jayce and Kacie were airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition, according to a Sept. 29 news release from FHP.
