Tribute Set for Teen Killed in Crash
Jaret Harshman was a student at Wesley Chapel High School.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - Wesley Chapel High School cross country runners will take to their track Friday night to honor the memory of a teammate who died in a Hernando County crash Wednesday evening.
The tribute to Jaret Harshman, 15, has been set for 5 p.m. Dec. 11, according to Pasco County Schools.
“His cross country teammates want to honor Jaret by holding the ceremony on the track where they ran with him this school year,” an email from the district said. “Students and school staff will pay tribute to Jaret, and then everyone who wants to participate will walk a lap around the track. The cross country team members will lead the lap, holding a banner signed by students and staff in Jaret’s memory.”

Wesley Chapel High is located at 30651 Wells Road. The district recommends parking on the east side of the school.
Harshman was killed when the car he was in failed to stop for a sign on Culbreath Road and Powell Road in Hernando County and struck another vehicle, a Florida Highway Patrol report said. The teen died shortly after the 6 p.m. Wednesday accident. Two other Wesley Chapel residents were involved in the crash. Ryan Scott Miller, 18, was driving. Both he and his other passenger, Michael Miller, 17, suffered minor injuries, the highway patrol said.
