Winn-Dixie, Publix New Year’s Eve 2016 Hours

Forget the black-eyed peas or collard greens for New Year’s dinner? There’s no need to panic. Both Publix and Winn-Dixie locations in the Tampa Bay area plan to be open for those last-minute ingredients over the New Year’s holiday. Shoppers need to be aware of some special hours for one of the region's biggest supermarket chains though.

Publix customers will find most stores intend to open at their regular hours on both New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2017. They’ll close earlier than normal both days though. Here’s the anticipated closing time rundown for Publix locations in Florida:

• New Year’s Eve – 9 p.m.
• New Year’s Day – 7 p.m.

All Publix pharmacies will be closed on New Year’s Day, too.

Winn-Dixie stores throughout the region will be open a little longer to help folks get their recipes just right. According to spokeswoman Meredith Holland Hurley, Winn-Dixie locations will close at 10 p.m. on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. They’ll open at their normal hours, too.
