​ 1 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Surpassed In Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — More than 1 million residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Miami-Dade County.

As of Monday morning, 1,003,751 people have been vaccinated, according to state data. This includes 94,933 people who have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single shot, which has been put on hold around the country because of blood-clot concerns.

This total number also includes 524,431 people who have completed either the Pfizer or Moderna two-shot series and 384,327 people who have received at least the first dose of both brands.

“I'm extremely proud that 1 million Miami-Dade residents have now received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. This milestone shows just how far we have come in our efforts to protect our community and put the pandemic behind us,” Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said. “I’m forever grateful to all the frontline health workers and first responders who have kept us safe throughout this crisis – and whose hard work to get shots in arms is moving us closer to the end of the pandemic every single day.”

The mayor also encouraged everyone who hasn’t received their shot yet to get vaccinated.

“It’s truly our best shot to protect ourselves and loved ones and move our community forward,” she said.

The COVID-19 vaccine is available in Miami-Dade County at the following sites:

  • Jackson Health System: Appointments are required and can be made online here.
  • Nicklaus Children’s Center: The vaccine is available to those 16 to 21 and is requires an appointment. More information can be found here.
  • Miami-Dade County: Appointments are required and can be made online here or by calling 305-614-2014.
  • Hard Rock Stadium (347 Don Shula Drive Miami Gardens): No appointment required.
  • Marlins Park: Appointment required and can be made online here.
  • Overtown Youth Center (1551 NW 1st Ave, Miami): No appointment required.
  • Oak Grove Park (680 NE 159th Street, Miami): Appointment required and can be made online here.
  • Bucky Dent Park (2250 West 60th Street, Hialeah): No appointment required.
  • Hellen Miller Center (2331 NW 143rd Street, Opa Locka): No appointment required.
  • Miami Dade College North Campus: Appointments on hold.
  • Jessie Trice Community Health Center: Appointment required. Call 305- 637-6400.
  • Community Medical Group: Appointment required (walk-ins on Saturdays.) Call 786-667-3167.

Select Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Sam's Club and CVS locations are offering the COVID-19 vaccine. Check each pharmacy retailer's website to learn about vaccine availability.

Those seeking the vaccine through the Veteran’s Administration system should call 305-575-7000.

Homebound World War II and Korean War veterans should call 850-487-1533 ext. 9 or find more information online here.
