3 Dead, 6 Wounded After Hookah Lounge Graduation Party Shooting

Two of the people killed were in a car that crashed on Miami-Dade College's Kendall campus after fleeing from the shooting scene.

KENDALL, FL — Three people, including a Florida corrections officer, were killed after a shooting outside a hookah lounge and related car crash in Kendall early Sunday morning, according to local news reports. Six others were injured.

Gunfire erupted outside a hookah lounge/restaurant near Southwest 104th Street and 109th Court as people were leaving a graduation party around 2 a.m., Miami-Dade Police Directory Freddy Ramirez told WPLG.

Police said one of two cars fleeing the scene after the shooting crashed at Miami-Dade College's Kendall campus. Two of the people who died were in the car, according to the report.

Two men and a woman were killed in the Kendall hookah lounge shooting, but their identities had not been released as of 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The woman was a Florida corrections officer, according to WPLG.

All six who were wounded in the shooting took themselves to area hospitals and were in stable condition, the report states.

Police confirmed on Twitter they are investigating the shooting, urging people to avoid the area as the investigation continued later Sunday morning.
