3-Year-Old Shot And Killed At Kids Birthday Party In Miami
The death of Elijah LaFrance is under investigation after neighbors said anywhere from 30 to 50 gunshots rang out Saturday night.
MIAMI — A 3-year-old boy was shot and killed at a child's birthday party in Miami Saturday night, according to several reports.
Police in Miami-Dade County are still looking for the shooter on Sunday, hours after neighbors in the city's Golden Glades neighborhood said dozens of shots rang out. A 21-year-old woman was also injured.
The fatal victim has been identified as Elijah LaFrance, Local10.com reported, citing a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department. The shooting occurred outside a home near North Miami Avenue and Northeast 158th Street, police said. The home was rented by the birthday party host through Airbnb, according to reports.

Marc Anderson, who lives in the area, told the news station anywhere from 30 to 50 shots were fired.
“People were running, so we ducked behind his truck and some people ran and hid behind these two trucks,” Anderson said.

Police have not released any information on the suspected shooter, the Miami Herald reports. They responded to the scene after a ShotSpotter alert, the report states.
The wounded woman remains in stable condition at Aventura Hospital & Medical Center in Aventura.
