Have you been feeling that you need to stimulate your creative abilities? Have you been yearning to do something fun? Have you been feeling that you need to make a change in your life in a positive way? Have you been wanting to learn something new during the Coronaviurs times? Have you been trying to connect with your inner self and search for your vision and your voice during this reflective times?
If the answer is Yes to any of the above. Then, you owe it to your self to get creative!
Taking first steps can seem difficult but art educators such as myself are trained in this profession, and are here to help you in your search for your creative self.
For such a journey, you need to start by taking art classes with art professionals such as myself. Artists who are trained and experienced educators in this field; and professional successful artists such as myself exhibiting and creating artwork constantly.
A bit about me, I've been an art educator for over a decade. I am a Corcoran GW grad and notable alumni. I've been exhibiting in solo and group shows world wide in major cities for many years. I am a a multi award wining artist, and I have my artwork featured in many reputable press such as the Washington Post, NPR, Huffington Post and others. I've been changing and inspiring the art world through my innovative vision and ideas for many years.
I usually take a break in the Summer and travel abroad. Yet, this Summer is different due to the Coronavirus trying times. Thus, I decided to offer short Summer classes, and give back to society through my art expertise.
These online art classes are open to local and to international students as well - Thus, open to all.
For the Summer season, I will be offering 2 art classes, Watercolor Painting on Monday mornings and Drawing on Friday mornings. I've been running the Spring classes via Zoom, and this social distancing, distant learning has proven to be really great and the students love it! From the comfort of one's own home, one logs in by clicking on the Zoom link that takes you to the Live art class in real time.
In each class I make sure it is visually interesting with a different project. I do Live demos in each class and a presentation. The students love seeing my work in progress and their progress and growth from a white sheet of paper to a complete finished painting and drawing at the end of each session. The students work along with me while I see their artwork and provide guidance.
It is an exciting visual experience and very rewarding - I welcome you to give it a try!
Engaging in the arts and doing something creative and fun especially during these trying Coronavirus times is helpful for your mental health.
Keeping one's mind creatively active is very healthy for our brain and overall health on so many levels.
In the Summer classes, one will learn how to work from still life and landscape projects in mediums such as watercolor for the painting class; and in charcoal, colored pencils and ink for the Drawing class. These very well rounded classes are for all levels of students, and open to all students in the US and abroad since they are conducted online via Zoom.
Here are the classes info and registration link:
The classes are through the Yellow Barn Studio & Glen Echo Park.
