Ballots Found In Mail Piles At Miami-Dade Post Office: Report

USPS launches investigation of four dozen ballots found at Princeton post office on Friday, reports said.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Four dozen ballots were discovered in a South Miami-Dade County post office by special agents with the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General on Friday, NBC 6 South Florida reported.

Florida House Minority Leader Kionne McGhee tweeted a video showing piles of undelivered mail at the post office in Princeton, not far from Homestead. The video was sent to him by a postal worker there, who indicated that the mail had sat in piles for more than a week.

Among the ballots found there, six were completed and 42 were blank. The Miami-Dade County Elections Department tweeted Saturday that the six completed ballots were delivered to them Friday evening and are being processed.

Meanwhile, 18 of the blank ballots belonged to voters who had already voted, either by replacing their mail-in ballot or participating in early voting, NBC 6 reported. For the remaining 24 ballots, MDCED tweeted that the department “is contacting affected voters directly to assist them.”
