Flood Watch Extended Into Weekend For South Florida
The National Weather Service extended a flood watch for all of South Florida.

MIAMI, FL — The National Weather Service extended a flood watch for all of South Florida into the weekend. The watch will be in effect through at least Saturday night.
Paxton Fell of the National Weather Service said South Florida can expect scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms over the next few days.
"Additional rounds of showers and storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall, with high rainfall rates that may lead to flooding," Fell said.

He said there will be increased tropical moisture across the region with already ongoing rainfall and saturated soils.

"The rise in severe weather potential over the weekend will increase the chance for strong wind gusts and frequent lightning," Fell said. "A weak tornado cannot be ruled out entirely."
