Jackson Health System, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Miami-Dade County will begin offering coronavirus vaccinations the week of Jan. 4.
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — It won’t be long before Miami-Dade County residents who fit specific criteria have several options to get the coronavirus vaccine.
Jackson Health System will launch its online platform to book coronavirus vaccination appointments the week of Jan. 4, according to the Miami-Dade County website. JHS administered its first vaccinations during a Wednesday press conference.
These appointments will only be open to county residents who are 65 or older. Once the platform is online, they can use it to request a vaccination appointment. Then, they’ll receive a call back with the appointment date and time, the county said.

Miami-Dade County is providing the vaccine directly to homebound seniors who are 65 and older and either live in county facilities or receive county services. The county will start directly contacting these individuals Monday to schedule vaccinations, the county said.
According to state guidance, the first three groups to receive the coronavirus vaccine in Florida are long-term care facility residents and staff, health care works who have direct contact with COVID-19 patients, and people 65 and older.
