Kaufman Lynn Broke Ground - New Lighthouse Point Commnity Center

Groundbreaking Marks New Phase of City Partnership for Projects that Serve City Residents

LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. (March 5, 2021) - Groundbreaking took place this morning for the new 8,100-square-foot Lighthouse Point Community Center that is being built in the existing Dan Witt 6-acre park. The facility will be a multi-use community center with a concession kitchen, youth game room, two multi-purpose rooms and new restrooms. The Lighthouse Point Community Center is scheduled for final completion in January of 2022.

Speakers at the event included Mayor Glenn Troast, Kaufman Lynn Construction CEO Mike Kaufman, Recreation Director Becky Word, City Representative Bill Gallo, and Jess Sowards of Currie Sowards Aguila Architects. Demonstrating the Mayor and City leaders’ commitment to the local workforce, the group was joined by representatives from five local Lighthouse Point businesses who have been brought on as subcontractors on the project.

“Outdoor spaces and open-air facilities contribute tremendously to making our communities vibrant, exciting places to live,” said Kaufman. “We’re thrilled to break ground on the new community center because it offers so many opportunities for people of all ages in Lighthouse Point to gather and enjoy recreational activities together.”
