HALLANDALE BEACH, FL — A 48-year-old man was killed over the weekend when he apparently jumped from a moving Lyft vehicle on Interstate 95 and was struck by an oncoming vehicle just south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

"The vehicle that struck the deceased and failed to remain on scene is still at large," said Lt. Yanko Reyes of FHP.

The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday as the Lyft vehicle, a black Chevrolet, was heading south. A crash report said the passenger jumped out of one of the windows and landed in the right lane of traffic.
