Phil Collins Looks For Young Talent in Air Around Miami

Phil Collins, who is known for chart-topping songs like "In The Air Tonight," is looking for young talent around the Miami area.

MIAMI, FL — Drummer, song writer and legendary performer Phil Collins, who is known for chart-topping songs like "In The Air Tonight," is looking for young talent around the Miami area through his Orianne and Phil Collins’ Little Dreams Foundation.

"Imagine singing alongside the iconic Grammy award winner Phil Collins or receiving art lessons from acclaimed artist Romero Britto," said foundation officials in announcing open auditions for budding musicians and artists who meet income and eligibility requirements.

The Miami-based non-profit is devoted to helping disadvantaged children between the ages of 6-17 who have a passion for music, art or sports.

"Selected young talent can join the ranks of foundation beneficiaries who have gone on to pursue their dreams — from attending Berklee College of Music to receiving a golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent," foundation officials explained.

The lucky kids who are chosen will get a chance to pursue their dreams while being mentored by industry professionals. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.

To be considered for the music or art program here is what you must do:

  • Music: submit a one-minute video recording of an audition song to info@ldf.cc
  • Art: submit one photo or video of one art piece in the respective categories of painting, drawing, photography, or sculpture to info@ldf.cc

The program is open only to young people who meet these requirements:

  • Between the ages of 6-17
  • Living in Miami-Dade or Broward Counties
  • Currently enrolled in school
  • Household income of $30,000 or less

"Top talent will be chosen as finalists and notified of an in-person audition date with a grand jury that includes Phil Collins and Romero Britto," foundation officials added.
