"So that's how they do it," village officials tweeted on Wednesday night. "Thanks to our friends at the Miami Dolphins and the outstanding Hard Rock Stadium grounds crew for assisting us with Don Shula Day activities by painting the throwback logo on the field at #EvelynGreerPark."

The festivities were part of Don Shula Day in the village, which included an appearance by Miami's beloved former coach. Shula led the Dolphins to two Super Bowl championships and the only perfect season in NFL history back in 1972.

Shula recently opened a casual dining restaurant in Pinecrest called Shula Burger at 12311 South Dixie Highway.

Pinecrest Mayor Joseph Corradino told the coach at Wednesday's ceremony that the village incorporated two months after Shula's retirement in 1996 and that Evelyn Greer Park was nothing more than a trailer park when he was at the helm of the Dolphins.

"Right now what we've got is a great new development, a great new city," the mayor said.

It wasn't clear how long the Dolphins logo will be on display but Evelyn Greer Park is located at 8200 Southwest 124th Street in case you want to check it out for yourself.
