Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?

Perez: Best Locksmith is a new business and we just started a year ago.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?

Perez: I used to work for a locksmith company for many years and I liked the locksmith work. I was into locks and rekeying, lockouts and picking locks, and when I moved to Miami I decided to open my own company.

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger in a few words, what would those words be?

Perez: The best locksmith service.

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

Perez: To find a location to open a locksmith store. I have two business locations. One is Best Locksmith Miami Beach, FL and one is Best Locksmith Sarasota, FL. It’s tough to find the ideal location for a locksmith business but we looked very hard, and we found the best places in Miami Beach and Sarasota.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

Perez: Helping the customer when they get locked out and being able to get them back to their property (like their car, home, space, etc.)

We also have a personal service. When you call Best Locksmith, the person that answers the phone is also the technician that will perform the locksmith job. This allows for flat prices and an accurate ETA.

Patch: How would you say your business distinguishes itself from the others?

Perez: Here at Best Locksmith, we believe that “the customer is always right.” It's not just a slogan, we are indeed working on this concept. When we perform a locksmith job, we make sure that the customer is 100 percent satisfied with our work. Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

Perez: If you want to succeed in anything in life, you have to be organized, and you need to wake up early in the morning even if there is nothing to do.

Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?

Perez: As a locksmith company, we are aware of the lack of lock quality and security. So, we are producing our custom made security pins for locks, and we made them here in Miami. They're helping to upgrade the lock and prevent bump-keying and picking; this is an inexpensive solution to improve a standard lock and make it more secure.

Patch: Do you have any events coming up in your community?
