MIAMI BEACH, FL — A Miami Beach man allowed a woman to use his cellphone and then was robbed by the woman's accomplices at gunpoint, according to police. The robbery occurred on Sept. 27 at 3 Street and Collins Court. Police said one of the robbers fired a handgun but no one was injured.
Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police Department described the thieves as "dangerous criminals" and said police are asking for the public's help in finding them. They can be seen on two city surveillance cameras fleeing in a white Dodge Charger.

"A white, Hispanic female with two-toned blonde hair exits the vehicle and asks the victim to borrow his phone," Rodriguez explained. "The victim allows her to make a call. At this point, two white, possibly Hispanic males, wearing masks and all dark clothing exit the vehicle and rob the man of the property just purchased."
The vehicle was equipped with a passenger-side HID headlight that was noticeably brighter than the driver-side headlight, according to Miami Beach police.

Rodriguez said that one of the accomplices discharged a firearm after a brief struggle. The bandits escaped with the victim's cell phone.
"Thankfully, the victim was not injured during the robbery," Rodriguez said. "Further investigation has revealed the spent casing located on the scene matches that of a shooting which occurred in Lake Worth on July 5, 2018."
