inspire not only Cuban-Americans, but the Latin American population as a whole.

“We are proud to honor José Martí whose poems and literary passages reflected the perseverance of the Cuban people,” said Mayor Dan Gelber. “His timeless words of hope and political freedom still ring true today.”
Presenting a coveted opportunity for older generations to reflect on his life and younger generations to learn of his revolutionary work, the fourth annual celebration will honor Martí’s immense impact.

We must remember not only Jose Marti’s legacy but the wisdom he left behind,” said Gabriel Paez, Chair of the City of Miami Beach Hispanic Affairs Committee. “As a result, we will honor this great poet by keeping his legacy alive throughout our city and Miami-Dade County on Thursday January 23. In the words of Jose Marti, “Day and night I always dream with open eyes.”
Following the 10 a.m. ceremony, cafecito and pastelitos will be served at 11 a.m.
