Miami Beach Lifeguards In Love On CBS' 'Amazing Race'

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Together, Miami Beach lifeguards Brittany and Lucas have rescued about 1,000 people. Now the duo are appearing on CBS' "The Amazing Race" as Team Ocean Rescue. This season's first episode aired last Wednesday and gave them a seventh place finish.

It's not a question of whether Lucas will pop the question to longtime girlfriend Brittany, it's a question of where on CBS' "Amazing Race," his marriage proposal will land. Last week the couple traveled to Reykjavik, Iceland along with 10 other teams that included former NBA players, models and former "Big Brother" showmancers Cody and Jessica.

"I believe they had a watch party last night, have definitely saved folks and are stationed in South Beach," confirmed the city's Melissa Berthier, a Team Ocean Rescue supporter and proud fellow Miami Beach employee.

Lucas described Brittany on their Season 30 introduction as his Wonder Woman, who just won the National Lifeguard Championships.

"Lucas and I have been dating about nine years now. I think that I deserve Lucas to propose to me," Brittany confided on the show. "Nine years is definitely long enough."

Lucas said he is also ready to take the plunge and won't need saving.

"I can't make any excuses anymore so I went out and I got an engagement ring and I hope to do it somewhere on 'The Amazing Race,'" he said on the show. "She's been expecting it but when it feels right. I think I'll do it."

The next episode airs Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
