Armed Robbery Suspect Surrenders To Miami Beach Police

Police asked people to avoid the area of 16 Street and Washington Avenue during the manhunt in South Beach.

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Miami Beach p0lice swarmed the streets of South Beach Tuesday following an apparent armed robbery. Police said that the suspect later surrendered without incident.

Police asked people to avoid the area of 16 Street and Washington Avenue in South Beach as they looked for the suspect.

"Police searching for robbery subject who fled the area armed with a weapon," Miami Beach police said earlier on Tuesday.

The robbery took place at Lincoln Road and Washington Avenue.

"Subject fled from our officer, armed with a knife," police said.

SWAT and K9 officers were brought in to assist with the search on the ground while a Miami-Dade police helicopter hovered overhead.
