Pastor, Accused Of Raping 13-Year-Old Girl, Released On Bond

LAUDERHILL, FL — A pastor accused of raping a 13-year-old girl over nearly a year has bonded out of jail, according to reports. Ricardo Strachan, 40, was released on $100,000 bond, Local 10 News reports, along with a requirement that he wears a GPS ankle monitor, Local 10 News reported.

Strachan and fellow pastor Avo Roker, 32, who is also the girl's stepfather, are both accused of sexually abusing the girl for effectively the entirety of 2016: Roker from December 2015 to December 2016 and Strachan from January to December 2016. Accusers say Roker introduced Strachan to the girl.

The two are accused of coercing the young girl into keeping quiet about their abuse. Roker allegedly told the girl that if she spoke, Strachan would harm her and her mother.

Strachan is accused of forcing the girl to steal items from her family for him to use in "voodoo" rituals, reports say, to hurt her family if she didn't keep his abuse quiet.

Roker, who was arrested on Saturday, is believed to have molested the girl dozens of times between December 2015 and December 2016, according to WSVN. Strachan is being accused of having sex with the girl in his car in a school parking lot at least 10 times throughout 2016, as well as dozens of other assaults.

Strachan's bail was set at $100,000. The Sun Sentinel reported his attorney argued that since he is a U.S. citizen, a South Florida resident of 20 years, has local family and no ties out of the jurisdiction, that his bail should be reduced to $25,000. The judge disagreed with his lawyer's plea.

Strachan was arrested Thursday. His lawyer vehemently denies the accusations against his client.

WSVN reports Roker is accused of molesting the girl up to 65 times.
