Get Rid of Chemicals, Electronics at City's Household Haul

The City of Tampa is organizing the collection of household items, like computer monitors and motor oil, for Saturday, June 8.

If you've been itching to get rid of household items like lightbulbs, paint or thermometers, now's your chance.

From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, the City of Tampa's Household Chemical and Electronics Collection event will allow residents to drop off unwanted items at the Tampa Fire and Police Academy, 116 S. 34th Street in Tampa.

The purpose of the event is to allow residents to safely dispose of unwanted chemicals and electronics, from VCR's to cell phones and televisions.

Items that won't be accepted include anything explosive, radioactive or biochemical waste.
