Lettuce Lake Park Closing For Road Work
The Hillsborough County park will shut down for a few days later in May.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who love the boardwalk, playgrounds and trails at Lettuce Lake Park may want to jot down a few upcoming dates. Hillsborough County has announced a temporary closing of the park at 6920 E. Fletcher Ave.
The park is set to close to visitors on May 16 so the county can repave and re-stripe the main road that runs through the 240-acre park. The plan is to have the park reopened for visitors by Thursday, May 19.
Guests who visit the park now are also likely to notice some work is under way. The first phase of repaving on some roads has already begun with plans to have it complete May 13.

While the first phase of repaving doesn’t involve the need to close the park, the county does warn there could be some disruptions to normal routine.
“The park will remain open during this phase, with only isolated closures of portions of the walking trail that are actively under construction,” an email from the county stated.

The total cost of the paving project is $297,000. It is being funded through the county’s repair and preservation program.
