Olive Garden Food Trucks Coming to a City Near You
The trucks are hitting the road to mark the introduction of breadstick bun sandwiches.

Can’t get enough of Olive Garden’s breadsticks?
The Florida-based chain on Monday officially introduced a brand new way to enjoy the garlicky creations with the launch of the “Signature Breadstick Bun Sandwiches” line. Now, the restaurant is hitting the road to promote the new menu items, embarking on a cross-country food truck tour.
While the food truck tour kicks off in New York City throughout the first week of June, the trucks will travel far and wide across the country offering free samples in the coming weeks. Fans can find which of 19 other cities the trucks will visit next by following Olive Garden on Twitter or keeping up with the seven-week tour on www.BreadStickNation.com. The chain hasn’t announced all of its planned tour stops, but indicates visits will occur throughout the country.

Why such an elaborate tour to kick off a sandwich line?
“We’re always looking for new ways to reach and engage our most loyal fans,” Jose Duenas, executive vice president of marketing for Olive Garden, said in a media release. “Not only are we giving guests more ways to enjoy our most iconic menu item, we’re making it easy for our guests to try our Signature Breadstick Bun Sandwiches.”
While the breadstick sandwiches are taking top billing, Olive Garden also added a number of new items to its menu starting Monday. They include a shrimp fresco appetizer, sausage stuffed giant rigatoni and a create-your-own Tuscan duo lunch combination, among others.
Olive Garden is owned by Orlando-based Darden. The company also owns LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille and a number of other restaurant chains. The chain has a strong presence in the Tampa Bay area with multiple locations of such chains as the Olive Garden, LongHorn and the Capital Grille, among others.
