Open House Set On Bruce B. Downs Intersection Improvements
Hillsborough County is hosting an open house Wednesday on intersection improvements along Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Hillsborough County is hosting an open house Wednesday, Aug. 28 on planned intersection improvements along Bruce B. Downs Boulevard near the entrance to the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital and the University of South Florida.
Improvements are planned at the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Richard Silver Way at the entrance to the veterans hospital, which also serves as an entrance to USF, to improve safety and traffic flow.
More improvements are planned at Bruce B. Downs and Campus Hills Drive to the south of the veterans hospital intersection.

The county is recommending adding traffic signals at both intersections, along with reconfigured medians and additional features for pedestrian safety and ADA accessibility.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Pizzo Elementary School, 11701 USF Bull Run Drive, Tampa. It will be an open house format with project displays available.

Attendees can review, ask questions and comment on the proposed design for the $1.2 million Bruce B. Downs Boulevard at Campus Hill Drive and $1.4 million Bruce B. Downs Boulevard at Richard Silver Way projects.
