Yellow Strawberry sends two to stylist school
All about education, Yellow Strawberry recently sent two of its own to New York City to take a two-day class at Bumble and Bumble University
All about education, Yellow Strawberry recently sent two of its own to New York City to take a two-day class at Bumble and Bumble University. One major focus of the class was on placement, sectioning and creating a softer look to the hair. Emily Knonke and Becky Clark were the lucky ladies who got to take part in this educational experience.
The stylists attended the BB Painting class last month. With four instructors, the two were given a total of four models to work on, giving them different hair types to work with to best showcase their techniques. The classes were also concentrated on consultation, which included skin tone, eye color and eyebrow color, which Emily really appreciated. The valuable experience and the lessons learned left the ladies highly recommending the classes to others.
A master level 2 stylist, Emily works out of the Lakewood Ranch location for Yellow Strawberry. She is originally from Detroit and specializes in working with curly and wavy textures as well as balayage and highlights.

The university is based on three premises of crafting series, commerce series and culture series. The craft series is focused on developing timeless techniques with the theory that even a veteran stylist has something more to learn. In the commerce series, the goal is to train leaders and challenge owner and managers to define their brand and create a creative and commercial culture. The final series of training teaches top talents in their network to inspire creativity and customer service.
Bumble and Bumble believes in working with models over the alternative plastic mannequins in order to give stylists the opportunity to perfect their techniques on various textured hair. This was one part of Bumble and Bumble’s teaching method that Emily in particular enjoyed.
