Homeless Man Tried To Rape 2 Homeless Women: Cops

A homeless man has been accused of sexually assaulting one woman and attempting to assault another. Police fear there may be other victims.

MIAMI, FL — A 40-year-old homeless man has been accused of sexually assaulting a homeless woman in southwest Miami-Dade and attempting to sexually assault another. Police fear there may be other victims. Lyndon Merlick Nicaisse was charged with sexual battery and attempted sexual battery stemming from the two incidents that occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. on July 27 and July 28.

"Nicaisse is homeless and known to frequent the area of the South Miami-Dade Busway and Southwest 160th Street," according to Detective Argemis Colome of the Miami-Dade Police Department, who said that police are asking other possible victims to come forward.

Colome said that both victims were sleeping when Nicaisse allegedly assaulted one of them and attempted to assault the other.

One of the victims told police that she awoke to find Nicaisse straddling her body with his penis exposed. He allegedly attempted to pull her pants down, and allegedly told her that he was going to have sex with her. The victim struck her attacker and he ran away, according to police.

The other woman was sleeping in a parking lot near the busway when Nicaisse allegedly laid down beside her, pulled her pants down and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

"The victim was able to push Nicaisse and ran to a nearby restaurant to call police," Colome said. "Uniform officers responded to the scene and located Nicaisse, where he was positively identified by the victim and arrested."

The case was investigated by the Miami-Dade Police Department Special Victims Bureau.
