Miami-Dade Police Crack Down On Seatbelt Violators
With more than a week to go before Miami-Dade schools reopen, police were out in force Tuesday morning looking for seatbelt violations.

MIAMI, FL — With little more than a week to go before Miami-Dade schools reopen, police were out in force Tuesday morning looking for seatbelt violations around the county. Miami-Dade police were targeting 10 problem intersections. The enforcement initiative was being condcted by the department's Motorcycle Unit.
Detective Argemis “AC” Colome of the Miami-Dade Police Department said that the intersections were selected based on crash and traffic-related fatality data.
The operation was funded by a Florida Department of Transportation grant. It was to run through 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
