Palmetto Bay To Hold Emergency Hurricane Meeting

Village officials said they are frustrated with the "very slow restoration process" from FPL and concerned with significant flooding.

PALMETTO BAY, FL — Village officials plan to hold an emergency special council meeting on Monday to discuss issues relating to Hurricane Irma. The meeting is scheduled to start 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall. The address is 9705 E. Hibiscus Street.

"Residents and officials alike are concerned about the lack of power in many homes throughout the village," officials said. "Flooding is another matter of significant concern. Consequently, a meeting has been called to address these critical issues."

The purpose of this Emergency Special Council Meeting is to discuss the following items:

1. Any and all matters relating to impacts and restoration related to Hurricane Irma, including physical damage and loss of electrical power;

2. Any and all matters relating to flood control in the Village of Palmetto Bay.
