Palmetto Bay To Launch Free Shuttle For Miami Commuters

The twice-a-day service will operate to and from Holy Rosary — St. Richard's Catholic Church and the Dadeland South Metro.

PALMETTO BAY, FL — In an effort to ease gridlock for downtown Miami commuters, the village of Palmetto Bay plans to launch a free shuttle beginning Monday. The twice-a-day service will operate to and from the parking lot o Holy Rosary — St. Richard's Catholic Church and the Dadeland South Metrorail station. Did we mention it's free?

"Not only is the Park & Ride a free service, as an extra bonus during the first week of operation, the first 20 riders each morning will receive a free one-day Metrorail pass," Palmetto Bay officials explained.

Two I-BUS shuttles will run continuously from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

"To make the ride as quick as possible, the I-BUS will use the Miami-Dade County Transitway," Palmetto Bay officials added.

The first shuttle will depart on Monday, June 11 at 6:30 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"Please join us as we take this significant step to calm traffic and promote public transit at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on our first day," officials said.

St. Richard's Catholic Church is located at 7500 SW 152 St, Palmetto Bay.
