Consistent with Miami-Dade County’s declared State of Emergency, Interim Village Manager Greg Truitt and I are declaring a State of Emergency for the Village of Palmetto Bay. The State of Emergency is effective today, March 13, 2020 due to the public health threat of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
It is important to underscore that there are no known cases of COVID-19 in Palmetto Bay. This declaration is a means to ensure all necessary resources will be available if needed. This includes access to emergency funding and supplies, the authority to close Village facilities and parks, to suspend non-essential services and transportation and to hold council meetings telephonically if necessary.
At this time, Village Hall is open and we continue to serve the community. Administration and I are in contact with the appropriate agencies and will continue to keep you informed of ongoing developments. Please continue to follow us on our social media channels, the links are provided below or check our website for the latest updates from the Village of Palmetto Bay.
We as Palmetto Bay residents have weathered challenges before. I have no doubt that by working together and following CDC preventive guidelines,we will overcome this as well. Please stay healthy, and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
