International Diving Team Recovers Body Of Man From Blue Sink
A 30-year-old man drowned in the natural spring known as Blue Sink on Thanksgiving Day.

PALM HARBOR, FL — Rescue diving crews have recovered the body of a 30-year-old man drowned in the natural spring known as Blue Sink on Thanksgiving Day.
According to the Pinellas County sheriff's office, at 1:46 p.m. deputies responded to 2350 Rolling Oaks Drive in Palm Harbor after being notified that a man had drowned in the nearby natural spring.
Deputies learned that 30-year-old Trevor Harris had been free-diving in the spring with a snorkel and did not resurface.

Clearwater Fire & Rescue, sheriff's office and Palm Harbor Fire Rescue divers attempted to recover Harris but were unable to do so due to the depth and visibility of the water.
They called on the International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery in High Springs.

IUCRR is a volunteer, non-for-profit organization that aids in the rescue and recovery of victims in an underwater-overhead environment. IUCRR divers are certified to dive in these environments.
The IUCRR divers entered the water at 11 p.m. Thursday and recovered Harris's body at about 11:32 p.m. from a depth of 122 feet.
Deputies learned Harris swam in the natural spring, known as the Blue Sink, more than 50 times. The spring is approximately 145 feet deep and is about 600 feet by 800 feet at the bottom.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor and foul play is not suspected.
