95-Year-Old Driver Crashes Into Palm Harbor Home

Cleanup is underway by the Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Department after a 95-year-old woman plowed into the garage of a Palm Harbor home.

PALM HARBOR, FL — Cleanup is underway by the Palm Harbor Fire Rescue Department after a 95-year-old woman hit the accelerator instead of the brake on her car and plowed into the garage of a home at 3903 Lake Shore Drive in Palm Harbor.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Lillian M. Sawyer of Palm Harbor was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital after she struck the home with her Toyota Camry at 11:31 a.m. Friday. After crashing into the garage door, the car struck load-bearing walls.

No one in the home was injured. Pfeiffer's Towing & Recovery of Dunedin is also on the scene assisting with debris clearance.
