Funnel Clouds? Palm Harbor People Snap Photos of Wild Weather
Check out these awesome weather photos submitted by Palm Harbor Patch readers.
No doubt, you probably noticed the wild weather that we've been having this week. Strong storms moved through the area, bringing lightning and funnel clouds.
Some quick-thinking Palm Harbor Patch readers pulled out their cell phones and cameras when they spotted formations that looked like funnel clouds.
Palm Harbor resident Rick Klein took an awesome photo Wednesday afternoon of what looks to be a funnel cloud. He was near Florida Hospital on Pinellas Ave. in Tarpon Springs, looking in the southern direction, when he snapped the photo using his cell phone. You can see the corner of Florida Hospital in the upper right corner of the photo. Rick said it looked like the possible funnel cloud was near Safety Harbor.
Palm Harbor business owner Doug Rohloff snapped an equally awesome photo Wednesday afternoon. His business, Art Attack Signs, is located on the second floor of the building that is home to the Witch's Brew on Florida Ave. He saw what looked like a funnel cloud and grabbed his camera and went outside to photograph it. Doug says he took the photo at Omaha Street and Florida Ave. and was looking in the southern direction He says it appeared as thought the possible funnel cloud was over Curlew Road in Palm Harbor.
Doug also took a really cool photo of a lightning bolt while he was at a drum circle Monday evening on the Dunedin Causeway. He used a fisheye lens to capture the dramatic scene (see photos).
Thanks so much for sending us these photos Rick and Doug! You rock!
