Curlew Hills Cancels Memorial Day - But Still Honors Veterans

Curlew Hills Cancels Memorial Day Ceremony Due to COVID 19, But Continues to Honor Veterans with Other Traditions

After much consideration, Curlew Hills Memory Gardens has decided to cancel their annual Memorial Day ceremony on May 25 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Curlew Hills has been holding a Memorial Day service for more than 30 years, so needless to say, this was a difficult decision. But the safety and well being of all event attendees and participants is the company's highest priority.

Even though Curlew Hills will not hold a ceremony this year, they will still honor our veterans who paid the ultimate price in the service of our country. To honor them, Curlew Hills will lower its property flags to half-staff and will place a memorial wreath in its Circle of Valor. Curlew staff will also place flags on all veterans’ graves throughout the cemetery.

To further honor veterans and include everyone who cannot attend ceremonies this year due to the current pandemic, Curlew Hills created a video with special footage from many of its past Memorial Day events. They have placed this video on their website and social media platforms so people can still honor our veterans in the safety of their homes in lieu of attending a traditional in-person ceremony.
