East Lake's New Property Tax Rates Explained

Pinellas County Property Appraiser Pam Dubov has provided us with a sample 2012 TRIM Notice, along with an explanation about tax changes for East Lake property owners.

We have some very important information to pass along for owners of property in East Lake.

As we've previously reported, a new East Lake Library Taxing District was recently created, which means your tax rates will be different and your Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (or TRIM Notice) will look a bit different.

Pinellas County Property Appraiser Pam Dubov has provided us with a sample 2012 TRIM Notice, along with an explanation about the changes.

  • For those affected by this new taxing district, both the East Lake Library Services and the County Library Services will appear on the TRIM Notice.
  • Property owners will pay taxes only on the new East Lake District and will not pay the County Library tax.
  • County Library Services information will be posted under the 2012 Taxable Value and the Final Tax Rate and Taxes columns (columns 1 & 2), but not in the current year columns.
  • The East Lake Library Services Taxing Authority, noted as ETF Library Services, will appear in the 2013 value, millage rate and taxes columns (columns 3, 4 & 5).
  • Residents with questions or concerns can call the Pinellas County Property Appraiser's Office at (727) 464-3207.
