Easter 2015: Events Around Tampa Bay
Egg hunts, Easter bunny visits and a number of other events are planned in communities throughout the region.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to hop on down to an Easter egg hunt or other special event before the season passes will find a number of festivities are planned in communities around the region. Here are just a few of the upcoming events:
- Easter Bunny Breakfast at the Palm Harbor Community Center – This event takes place April 4 at 8:30 a.m. For $5, kids can dine with the big bunny himself. To register for this event, which takes place at 1500 16th St., visit the parks and recreation department’s website.
- Cotton Tail Express – The Florida Railroad Museum is hosting a special event on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Visit the museum’s website for details and ticket information. The museum is located at 12210 83rd St. E. in Parrish.
- Tarpon EGGstravaganza – This free event for kids takes place at the Tarpon Sports Complex, 150 Jasmine Ave., in Tarpon Springs on Saturday, March 28. It includes an Easter egg hunt, photos and food for purchase. Visit the recreation department online for more details.
- City of Oldsmar Easter Egg Hunt – The fun starts at 9 a.m. sharp Saturday, March 28, at the R.E. Olds Volleyball Court on the corner of Devonshire Street and Shore Drive. There’s no charge for the event. To find out more, visit the city’s website.
- 28th annual Jellybean Jamboree – Set to take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 28 at Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road, in Hudson, this event costs $1 per person. It features games, prizes, an egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny. To register or for more information, call 727-861-3033.
- Easter Egg Hunt & Games on Siesta Key – The event takes place April 4 at Beach Access Point No. 5 at Beach Road and Ocean Boulevard. For $10, children ages 1 to 6 get an Easter bunny or stuffed animal, goody bag and more. The event is limited to the first 125 paid children and runs from 9 a.m. to noon. - Easter Egg Hunt and Puppet Show – This event is set for Saturday, March 28, at Faith Covenant Church, 150 62nd Ave. N.E. in St. Petersburg. It runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and includes an egg hunt with prices for kids age 11 and under. The event is free. For more details, visit the church online.
- Easter Eggstravaganza at St. James – This event takes place Saturday, March 28 at St. James United Methodist Church, 16202 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. The free event is open to the community and is geared toward kids in grade five and below. It runs from 10 a.m. to noon. For more details, check out the church’s website.
- Bunny Hop – Set for Saturday, March 28 at the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway, this event is for kids age 10 and under and costs $1. It features games, an egg hunt, music and more. For more details, visit the recreation center’s Facebook page.
- Eco Egg Hunt – Set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Safety Harbor’s Marshall Street Park, 500 Marshall St., this free event is for kids and adults alike. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available for purchase and event-goers will find games, face painting, a bounce house and more. Teams can also compete to gather the most air potatoes to win a prize. For more details, visit the city’s website.
- Free Easter Egg Hunt for Children With Autism – This special event is designed for kids with autism and is sponsored by Face Autism. It takes place Saturday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ashton Elementary School, 5110 Ashton Road, in Sarasota. To learn more, call 813-240-3044.
- St. Leo’s Eggstravaganza – This free event takes place on the grounds of St. Leo University, 33701 State Road 52, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29. It features an egg hunt, egg toss, races, games and more. Candy and snacks will be available, as well.
- Children’s Easter Egg Hunt – This event takes place Saturday, April 4 at City Life Church, 1300 17th Ave. W. in Bradenton from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The free event is for toddlers through elementary-age children.
