
The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a flood warning for parts of Pinellas County until 4:30 p.m. Monday with a flood watch also in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The flood warning covers northern Pinellas County while the watch is in effect for all of Pinellas.
Watches are issued when flooding is possible within the next 24 to 36 hours. Warnings are issued when hazardous weather is imminent or already occurring.

The service says up to 6 inches of rain may fall in some areas of Pinellas on Monday.
The agency is warning motorists to take caution on local roadways.

“Most flood deaths occur in automobiles,” the advisory warns. “Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway.”
More rain expected on Tuesday.
