Free Fishing Days Seeks Sponsors

Funding for CSA Palm Harbor's popular "Free Fishing Days" is about to run out. That has organizers seeking additional donors.

A popular Palm Harbor event for kids could soon run out of funding.

For the past few years, Palm Harbor CSA and the Katz Foundation have been bringing kids "Free Fishing Days".

Local fishing captains take the kids out onto St. Joseph Sound for four hours of free fishing during the summer (see video).

"When the kids come home, they've never fished before and they bring home dinner it touches the whole family. It's an experience that will be remembered for the rest of these kids' lives," said Angela Katz of the Katz Foundation.

However, funding for Free Fishing Days is about to run out. That has organizers seeking additional donors.

"Our hope is that the love of this event will provide a seed in the community for the program to grow for many more years to come," said Katz.

"We're asking those whose lives this has touched or who feel this is worthwhile to come forward and help us with fundraising efforts to continue this program for years to come," Katz added.
