K-9 Memorial Service at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens - March 9

Everyone is welcome to attend the K-9 Memorial Service at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens on Tuesday, March 9 at 4:00.

Some of the area’s most dedicated law enforcement employees are scheduled to be honored…its K9 service dogs. The 13th annual service will be held at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens on Tuesday, March 9 at 4:00 p.m. to honor these brave animals.

The public is welcome to attend this very moving ceremony. Social distancing and masks are required by all human attendees.

K9 service dogs and their handlers from many area police and sheriff’s departments including the Clearwater Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be in attendance at the service. Deceased service dogs from both agencies will be remembered. During the service, the K-9 Units will be honoring retired canines that have passed away. At this year’s memorial, the over 75 dogs that are currently interred at the Memory Gardens will be remembered and reflected upon as well as three new dogs being memorialized.

“Law enforcement dogs and their human handlers often share a bond that goes deeper than the typical relationship between a pets and an owner. It's a connection formed over months of rigorous training, countless hours spent in each other's company, and shared dangers,” comments company President & CEO Keenan Knopke. “We are extremely proud that we can
offer this memorial service to the brave officers and loyal dogs who give so much to our community.”

Curlew Hills Memory Gardens features one of Florida’s only authentic pet cemeteries. The company proudly donates burial plots in the pet cemetery to all service animals of both law enforcement agencies. Without this donation, the handler would typically pay out of his own
pocket for the burial of the animal upon his death.
