Kangaroo Leads Deputies on Chase, Captured 1 Day Later

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is looking for the owner of a 200-pound, 5-foot-tall kangaroo that led them on a chase over the weekend. The wandering kangaroo was caught near Dade City, which is where the Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay now resides.

Move over Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay, a new crazy critter story has taken over local headlines. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is looking for the owner of a 200-pound, 5-foot-tall kangaroo that led them on a chase over the weekend. The hopping 'fugitive' was first spotted Saturday in Lacoochee, which is in the Dade City area. It was captured in Lacoochee one day later, according to this article in Land O' Lakes Patch.

Coincidentally, the Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay lives nearby in Dade City. The rhesus macaque monkey was on the run for two years before he was caught last October in a St. Pete resident's back yard. The Mystery Monkey of Tampa Bay achieved celebrity status and even has a Facebook Page with 85,714 followers.
