Ozona's Fourth of July Parade Includes Decorated Golf Carts, Dogs, Kids and Bikes

We counted 18 golf carts in Ozona's Fourth of July parade and didn't get a head count on the kids on bikes because they whizzed by so quickly! (see video).

It's no secret that golf carts are the vehicle of choice for many residents of Palm Harbor's laid-back waterfront community of Ozona. When it comes to the holidays in this neck of the woods, golf carts play a big role, especially on the Fourth of July and Christmas.

We admit we're a bit biased, but we think that Ozona's Independence Day Parade is one of the best Fourth of July events in Pinellas County.

This year's parade was no exception. Held on Saturday, June 29, the parade attracted lots of kids on patriotically-decorated bikes, parents driving decorated golf carts and some dogs who were along for the ride.

Everyone lined up on Orange Street at 9 a.m. The parade then weaved around a few blocks before making its way back to Orange Street. The parade never lasts long, because Ozona is so small. We counted 18 golf carts in the parade and didn't get a head count on the kids on bikes because they whizzed by so quickly! (see video).

If you missed this year's Fourth of July golf cart parade, another golf cart parade will be held around Christmas time. As soon as a date is set, we'll be sure to let you know.
