Palm Harbor Library Revamps Its Sewing Program

The Sewing Program is a Unique Asset to this Community

There is some news that is sew exciting happening in Palm Harbor. The Palm Harbor Library is thrilled to announce that it has updated its sewing program, effective immediately. Library members can now enjoy a more streamlined and convenient use of the on-site sewing machines.

The Palm Harbor Library has four Husqvarna Viking sewing machines, which are consistently rated one of the best sewing machines by both Consumer Report and Amazon.com. The Library has developed a new program for members to check out the sewing machines to use in one of the five available study rooms. The sewing machines can be checked out for a 2-hour period from the information desk on a first come, first serve basis. If there is no one waiting, Library members may extend their time by an additional two hours.

The Library recommends bringing all sewing supplies necessary, however some basic sewing supplies are provided, such as scissors and rulers. Due to health and safety issues, all sewing machine users must bring their own needles and pins. Children between the ages 8 and 12 may also use the sewing machines with parent or guardian supervision.
