Patient Airlifted by Bayflite Tuesday Morning

Thanks to Palm Harbor Patch reader Holly Bird for sending us these photos of news she spotted in her neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Holly says she was out walking her dog Tuesday morning when she came across a gathering of firetrucks, ambulances and several Pinellas County Sheriff's vehicles right next to the Palm Harbor Fire (PHFR) Station on Illinois Ave. & 12th. St. in the old downtown Palm Harbor area.

Holly initially thought it was a PHFR training exercise, but a Bayflite helicopter landed in the county parking lot on Illinois Ave. and 11th St. and took on a trauma patient from one of the ambulances.

Traffic reports Tuesday morning on Twitter said it appeared to be a motorcycle accident.
