Pinellas Clerk Receives 3rd Statewide Reaccreditation
The Pinellas County Clerk's Division received its third accreditation.

From the Pinellas Clerk’s Division of Inspector General: With continued diligence and commitment to maintaining the highest recognition among Florida’s Inspector General community, the Pinellas Clerk’s Division of Inspector General received its third accreditation by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
“The Division of Inspector General always strives for professionalism and the continuous pursuit of excellence,” stated Ken Burke, Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. “Receiving this recognition is a huge compliment for their efforts year-round.”
The reaccreditation process consisted of assessing the agency on 46 standards. In order to earn the reaccreditation, the Pinellas Clerk’s Division of Inspector General had to comply with 41 of these standards, those which are applicable to areas of responsibility and jurisdiction. A team of assessors examined all aspects of the Public Integrity Unity (investigations section), including policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services.

The Pinellas Clerk’s Division of Inspector General became the first local government agency in the nation, and first Florida Clerk of the Court and Comptroller’s office, to be awarded the status as an Accredited Office of Inspector General by the Commission on February 3, 2010. Reaccreditation occurs every three years and it is a highly prized honor for Offices of Inspector General professional excellence.
