PALM HARBOR, FL — The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation will celebrate World Chimpanzee Day Saturday, July 10, featuring chimp artwork available for a donation.

The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is home to more than 100 animals including chimpanzees, orangutans, monkeys, reptiles and tropical birds.

Whether coming to the sanctuary after no longer being able to be cared for as a personal pet or retiring from the laboratory and film industries, the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation and its predecessor organizations have provided a safe haven for animals in need of sanctuary for the past 50 years.

The sanctuary is run entirely by volunteers and relies on the generosity of the community and local businesses.

The sanctuary is located at 4600 Alternate U.S. 19, Palm Harbor. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for more information.
